Her name is Autumn. I love the name, we came together in the fall...so it's like guitar&man love destiny. It's not how it sounds! Even though I have fallen asleep with her in my arms...there is no inter-species, cross pollination action action going down!So yeah...the story of how we met...it was a cold and windy (somewhat drizzly) September day when we first met. Although we did not know until about the beginning of November that our paths were going to be alongside each other. I was in the market for a new guitar because my older guitar was getting a bit worn and there were some repairs needed that would cost me what I paid for it.
I was not quite expecting to be moving into a new axe for sometime, but hey, what are you going to do. Plus, not so secretly I was excited about getting a new guitar, not a used. I know there is lot of savings to be had in a used quality instrument....but I wanted to do something nice for myself and I decided a new guitar would be that thing...plus it's an investment into my future. She sounds sweet right now but will only get better as she mellows over the years. I am enjoying the now and looking forward to the 'then' with her. It's gonna be a beautiful ride.
So...back to our meeting. I was traipsing about the city and cities not of my current dwelling, seeking 'the one' out. I played about 60-70 different guitars of all makes and models. I still remember touching her for the first time, I was sitting down in that humidified room and there
were two guitars I kept playing over and over again. Autumn and another Taylor worth 3 times as much as Autumn. (Oh yeah, Autumn is a Taylor) www.taylorguitars.com Now don't get me wrong here, the other unit was great. Its sound was awesome...but Autumn just spoke to me when she was in my hands...not to mention out of them. Anyways...the more I played Autumn, the more it made sense. Definitely in my budget and such a lovely instrument...how could I resist? That is the story behind how my baby and I came together. Look forward to sharing more with ya!
Peace&Pints!!! And back to practice!
